Savant Energy Power Networks is a developer and manager of Embedded Networks in multi-tenant facilities. We hold a full Electricity & Gas Retailer Authorisation from the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) and are therefore bound by the stringent regulation of the AER via the Retail Law and Regulations.
Our business is to evaluate, establish & manage the on-selling of energy in embedded networks. We provide turn-key solutions for the establishment & ongoing management of embedded networks with a focus on creating opportunities for owners & tenants to reduce their energy spend.
SEPN is the holder of an Electricity & Gas Retailer Licence from the Australian Energy Regulator. The complicated nature of the energy industry demands that SEPN are completely up to date with all regulatory requirements in order to remain compliant. Regulatory compliance ensures high levels of customer service and that the rights of the customers are protected.

Our main business is to operate and manage embedded networks in retirement villages, high rise apartments and other multi tenant facilities. The EPN will provide an additional revenue stream for facility owners from the revenue generated by the EPN.
SEPN is also run by competent directors who have been in the energy market for years giving significant advice to clients on supply agreements, determining the lowest cost network tariff structure for individual sites and other issues in relation to operational, financial and licensing issues. Most clients are from the local government, not for profit and commercial sectors operators.
Richard Mintz holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Adelaide. He’s a member of the institute of Chartered Accountants having qualified in 1992, and also holds a MBA from the University of Adelaide and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Richard began his career with Ernst and Young in Adelaide, working in the Insolvency and Corporate Restructuring Advisory Groups. Moving to London to work with Buchler Phillips, then part of the Ferrier Hodgson Group, Richard developed strong commercial skills, particularly in the area of Financial Analysis and Operations Management. In 1997, Richard moved from private practice to commerce, as the Chief Executive Officer of Heinrich Cooperage, a manufacturer of wine barrels located in the Barossa Valley. In 2000 he founded Two Hands Wines, which he successfully exited as the director and shareholder in 2015.
Richard has strong skills in the areas of corporate governance, strategy and commercial operations. Richard has gained extensive agri-business experience through Two Hands Wines, as well as private farming interests. Richard is also the director of Savant Energy Advisory, an advisory firm that specialises in the energy market.
Justin Hyde holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Adelaide. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants having qualified in 1992 and also holds a Diploma in Applied Finance from the Securities Institute of Australia.
Justin began his career with Ernst and Young in Adelaide working in the Corporate/Business advisory groups. In this capacity he developed a foundation of skill in advanced financial modelling, business planning and sensitivity anaysis. From 1992 until 2014, Justin moved his career into the world of international investment banking. Over this period he lived in London, Sydney, Chicago, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore, working into Macquarie Bank, Barclays Capital and most recently as Executive Director at JP Morgan.
Justin is specialised in financial market deal structuring and business development roles with a large focus on commodity markets such as oil and gas, gold, agriculture and power. In the last 10 years he has raised investor capital and structured and executed deals to the value of 9 billion US dollars for commodity based investments.
Darren has a strong background In Operations and Sales Management having managed multiple manufacturing and sales sites in South Australia and Northern Territory for Fielders. Most recently Darren headed up the Sales and Marketing functions both Nationally and Internationally for the iconic Lightforce brand of Products. Darren holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of South Australia.

Possessing extensive experience in the management of distributed teams in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane, James has demonstrable expertise in the key fields of training and development, business process improvement, contract negotiation and tender management. James is also experienced in the areas of strategic human resource planning, key account acquisition and retention, strategic leadership, key account management, and market analysis and segmentation. Having returned to study, James is completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Business Law).
